The Drøn Fabric Guide

Why We Use Bamboo

When we started building the Intent Tee, the obvious choice was polyester or nylon. That's where most performance clothing lives. It stretches, it dries fast, and it's cheap to produce.

We chose not to.

Polyester traps heat. It holds odor after one wear. And outside the gym it looks exactly like what it is — athletic wear that doesn't belong anywhere else.

We wanted a fabric that performed without those compromises. One that breathed naturally, resisted odor without chemical treatments, held its shape over hundreds of wears, and looked as clean in a meeting as it did on a run.

That fabric is bamboo.

  • Naturally Odor-Resistant

Bamboo fibers contain a natural antimicrobial agent called bamboo kun. It inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria within the fabric. No chemical treatment required — and unlike synthetic antimicrobial coatings, it doesn't wash out over time. The Intent Tee has been worn 117 times and washed 12. It still doesn't smell between wears.

  • Temperature Regulating

Bamboo is naturally thermo-regulating — it stays cool when your body temperature rises and comfortable when it drops. Micro-gaps in the bamboo fiber structure allow air to circulate in a way polyester and even cotton cannot replicate. Wear it on a run. Wear it in a meeting. Your body stays comfortable in both environments.

  • Exceptional Softness

Bamboo fibers are naturally round and smooth at the microscopic level — there are no sharp spurs that scratch or irritate skin the way cotton or synthetic fibers do. The result is a fabric that feels like second skin from the first wear and stays that way after repeated washing. The Intent Tee feels identical on wear 117 as it did on wear one.

The Full Composition

The Intent Tee is not a pure bamboo fabric — and that's intentional.

65% Organic Bamboo — The foundation. Provides breathability, odor resistance, temperature regulation, and that characteristic softness. Grown without pesticides and requiring a fraction of the water of conventional cotton.

28% Premium Cotton — Structure and durability. Cotton adds body to the fabric so the tee holds its shape over time without going limp or misshapen. It's what stops the tee from looking like it's been through 117 wears.

7% Spandex — Four-way stretch. A small percentage of spandex adds the elastic recovery that lets the fabric move with your body during training and snap back to its original silhouette after. Not compression — just freedom of movement with structure.

Every percentage was chosen deliberately. Nothing is there without a reason.

The Environmental Angle

Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on earth. It regenerates from its own root system without replanting, requires no pesticides, and uses significantly less water than conventional cotton.

We use it because it performs better. The fact that it's better for the planet is a bonus we're not going to pretend we didn't notice.

The Proof

One tee. 117 wears. 12 washes. Ten months.

Still the same colour. Same structure. Same softness.

That's not a claim. That's a documented experiment by the person who built this brand.
